User status update while creating Equipment through BDC

Hello experts,

I have a little issue here. My client has been successfully creating Equipment master using a BDC for Equipment creation until now.

Now the requirement is , for those Equipment lying in the warehouse , the user status also need to be set according to the state of the Equipment.

It could be Broken (BDN) or Repaired (REP) or not in use (ENC) etc.

So what they need is, the user will provide input in the excel sheet for upload and the same needs to be updated in the system while creating the Equipment.

Is there any way to tackle this? I tried using multiple recordings , also tried using this BAPI :STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN but this can be used only for change Equipment.

Is there any other way?
