Hi Experts,
After activating business function(LOG_EAM_LINEAR_1) for Linear asset management, SAP has proposed following additional fields for mapping linear attributes.
1. LRP (only for FLOC and EQPT)
2. Start Point, End Point, Length, UOM
3. Start marker, End marker , Distance from start marker, Distance from End marker , UOM (only get activated after entering LRP)
4. 2 offsets (Type, Offset value and its UOM)
I have the following questions.
a) Why the LRP and relvant fields start marker and end marker is only available for equipment/FLOC why in other other master data or transactional screen.
b) If SAP is integrated with GIS(Geographical Info. System) which is in most of the cases for better results, if GIS has start XY and END XY coordinates for an asset, how that can be mapped to SAP fields.
c) If there is an third coordinate like elevation (Z-coordinate), do we have to enhance it.
I appreciate the distributive characteristics functionality which was a pain is now very good.
