Prevent Number Range

HI Experiment ,

my customer need  to Prevent trigger  internal number range.lets me know explain this case  if  he  choose create general task list and changed his mind to create it and  back to (initial screen )  with out save, the internal number range can added and accounting in the number range and for this we lose some number like that please advise me
