Firstly, this is more of a support request for SAP, however I didn't really know where to ask this question, so I thought that I would start by posting it here.
I'm still very new to SAP PM, and I am using it as an end user at a production plant. I have used it to build asset register, schedule, prepare, perform and close out work. Therefore, the question is not technical, as such, but more of a SAP feature question.
I am involved in the process of creating new maintenance items, where I specify what is needed and how to implement. The request then goes to our SAP team (in the form of a Z6 notification).
When some work orders are released, I would like to have a standard spreadsheet attached to the work order. However, I have been told that this is not possible in SAP, and this really surprises me. I have seen that it is possible to have an attachment in a maintenance item, however when this gets released as a work order, the attachment will not be included in the work order.
It would be greatly beneficial to myself and the technicians performing the work to have attachments released with the work orders. Our current work around, is either to inform the user in the long text where he can find the attachment on a network drive (not ideal, as drives might move or change address), or to attach it to the maintenance item (which means that the technician needs to spend time to drill down to the maintenance item and then print off the spreadsheet).
Neither of these solutions are ideal, and it would benefit us substantially if the attachment was released with the work order.
So, I would like to ask if anyone else has the same frustration? And if you did, how did you work around it? Also, if other users have experienced the same frustrations, then isn't it possible for SAP to implement this feature into its system?
