Issues with Service Notification

Hello All,

Case1: System is triggering Service Contract through notification iw51

We have a scenario where the equipment is leased to a customer, the scenario is mapped through creating a lease sale order followed by delivery where the material is serialized at the time of goods issue during outbound delivery creation.

Next A contract is also created having the same sold to party however the material is different but the sold to party is the same, there is no link between the contract and the sales order.

Also pasting screen shot of the equipment master

Next when I am creating the service notification for the above mentioned equipment, in this case a contract is getting triggered by default.

The first issue we are facing is why does the notification trigger the contract even though the material mentioned in the contract does not have any link with the equipment.Does the system check only the sold to party?

Case 2: System does not trigger service contract no in the notification iw51 even though the lease sales order is created with the same material and contract exists having different material but both contract and sales order  having the same sold to party.

Please explain the behavior of the system please note that in both cases the equipment is not assigned to both of the contracts mentioned above in the technical object assignment block

Kind Regards

Naviin
