Changing Serial Number Level of Explicitness to 1 at client or plant level

Hi Gurus,

Until now, we are working with Serial Number Level of Explicitness equal blank for all serialized materials. This means that same serial # can exist for different materials.

Now we want to can make the serial numbers unique on a client-wide scale (or possibly plant-level)

We know that we need to change all materials " Level of Explicitness"  indicator to "1" (possibly via mass change MM17).

Is the above procedure sufficient, are there any considerations to be taken, in light of the current existence of serials/equipment numbers which are unique at material level?
